Volunteer

The Carmel Clay Historical Society has a broad range of opportunities for people to get involved. For those who like a regular schedule of participation, serving as a Monon Depot Museum conductor (or guide) on weekends is a great idea.

A one-day commitment more to your liking? We can accommodate that, too. Our Holiday Home Tour is one of our largest volunteer undertakings each year, for which we need guides and people to prepare appetizers for the evening tours. And we can always use help with Scout groups and school tours. Volunteers will work with students at hands-on activities, crafts, talking about Carmel history and leading tours. We even have opportunities for volunteers to help assemble newsletters and other mailings, which provide wonderful chances to meet other CCHS members. And we can always use people good at long-term planning.

Our Spring Tea and Holiday Home Tour are the major fundraisers for the CCHS and we need energetic, organized people to help make those events happen.

And of course we could use office assistants who could help working on the computers, send mailings to current and prospective members, and cleaning collections areas.

For more information about any of these areas or to sign up, contact Emily Ehrgott at eehrgott@carmelclayhistory.org or 317-846-7117.
